Alex Kirkland, Stephen Scott-Hayward and the Story Behind Le Cheval 2.1

Kirkland (vicar, left) and Scott-Hayward (spotty dog, right) have collaborated on a number of short films together, including Taking the Lease (2002), which Scott-Hayward co-wrote/directed and Kirkland edited; Isn't There an O in COUNT? (2003), which both co-wrote/directed; and Le Cheval 2.1 (2004), the award-winning short which both co-wrote/directed.

Explaining their preference for shorts over features, the pair told itsallelectric.com that "features are too long…we'd do them all day if they were shorter."

Any advice for new directors? "Never work with cows in French."
